Sunshine Dad has been nominated for the Real Neat Blog Award. I was nominated by Nourishing My Scholar. It’s always humbling to receive praise but even more so when it’s another blogger.
As part of the award I have been asked to answer 7 questions:
1. What is your favorite book?
I’m not a huge reader. Easily I would have to say my favorite book is the Bible. Second would have to be Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.
2. If you could sit down and talk with anyone in the world, past or present, who would it be?
First choice would have to be Jesus, that would be cool. Second choice would be my granddad who passed when I was 15.
3. What inspired you to start blogging?
I had been thinking about it for a while and several people told me I should, finally I decided to just go for it.
4. If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?
Read Rich Dad, Poor Dad sooner. 🙂 This is a great question, I’m not sure I have any sage words of wisdom for younger me. Maybe learn more about owning a business at an early age.
5. What would be the one quote that you live by?
Is “fly by the seat of your pants” a quote? j/k If I had to choose I guess I’d pick: “All things work together for good to those that love the Lord” Romans 8:28
6. What has been your biggest challenge as a parent?
When my wife went back to work after our 3rd child. It took me a really long time to feel like I wasn’t drowning and in over my head everyday. The jump from 2 to 3 was a very significant change.
7. What are three things you can’t live without?
I’m assuming air, water and food are a given so I’ll say: Cell phone, car and a large wallet (I tried using a thin wallet and I just couldn’t keep all my stuff in it).
I get to nominate someone if I’d like, so I’d like to nominate Dashboard Dad. Thanks for reading everyone, go checkout Nourishing My Scholar and Dashboard Dad if you haven’t already.
And as I’m inclined to do these days, I’ll beg remind you that if you wanted to click on the Top Daddy Blogs logo below to vote for me it would be much appreciated. You can vote/click once every 24 hours. Have a great weekend!

Thanks Lia, you too!
Can any blogger live with out a cell phone? Is it humanly possible?
I couldn’t live without my phone before I started blogging, so the addiction is really bad now! ha 🙂
Congratulations! I enjoyed reading your answers. I also clicked on your top daddy button since you begged…I mean reminded me. I hope you win 🙂
I hope I win too. I’ve got to take down this really tough guy named Gary (you may have seen him in such places as the comment above you)
🙂 it’s more of an on-going thing but it can help drive traffic to our blogs. Thank you so much for nominating me!
Congratulations Mike! If anyone has earned a blogging award it’s definitely you! So very happy and excited for you!
I can’t go a half an hour without my phone! It’s become a horrible addiction really! I’m trying to think of two other things I can’t live without and can’t think of anything! Oh wait Q-Tips… I could not live without Q-Tips, my cell phone, or my computer!
Happy May and I hope you have a great day today!
Much love,
Lysa xx
Q-Tips! You sound like my wife, she has a mild fetish I think with cleaning her ears.
I hope you are having a blast on your trip!!
Too funny because I do add well! Cleaning my ears with a Qtip is the best feeling in the world! Lol My sister has the same ear cleaning fetish as well! I’m home until Monday then we will be on the road again! Looking forward to the second half of the road trip because I get to see my son and grandson! I saw my oldest daughter on the first part of the road trip! Good times indeed… I’ll we writing a bunch of posts as soon as I can find the time! Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Thank you so much. Have a great weekend 🙂
Dude, this sounds like a “real neat” award! Too corny? Yeah, thought so. But that’s what dads are for, right?
Anyway, congrats, Mike, and although we might soon be mortal blog enemies, I still wish you the best as a Top Daddy!
Congratulations! I always enjoy your posts and you deserve this!
Congrats! I am not sure how you manage all you do with four kids, I have trouble with half as many!
Nice getting to know you a little better 🙂
Some days I feel like I don’t manage, or that I managed really poorly. But the good thing about 4 kids is you get to slowly develop your parenting skills 1 kid at a time (unless you had quadruplets, in which case God help you)
